This Privacy Policy explains how Ashu Ventures LLC ("Zukani," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Zukani TV app and website (the "Service"). It applies to everyone who uses the Service, including viewers and creators.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. Your name, email address, and password (or, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier those providers give us) when you register.
Usage and viewing data. Which episodes and series you watch, how far into an episode you watch, likes, saved series, search activity, and similar in-app interactions, so we can operate features like watch progress, "continue watching," and recommendations.
Coin and transaction data. Your Coin balance, Coin pack purchases (processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we do not receive or store your card details), and which episodes you've unlocked.
Device and technical data. Device type, operating system, app version, a push-notification token (if you allow notifications), and general location at the country level (derived from IP address, used only in aggregate for creator analytics — see below — not to pinpoint your exact location).
Content you provide. If you contact support, submit a content report, or (for creators) submit a series for review, we collect what you send us.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate the Service: authenticate you, remember what you've watched and unlocked, and process Coin purchases;
- To communicate with you: respond to support requests, send transactional notifications (like a reply to a support message), and, if you've opted in, send push notifications about new episodes or promotions;
- To improve the Service: understand aggregate viewing trends and app performance;
- To provide creators with audience analytics for their own series — always in aggregate or de-identified form (view counts, completion rates, country-level demographics), never your individual identity or account details;
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service;
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the Service under contract, such as Cloudflare (video hosting and delivery), our cloud infrastructure and database providers, and email delivery providers;
- Apple and Google, who process in-app purchases and app distribution under their own privacy policies;
- Law enforcement or regulators, only when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Zukani, our users, or the public.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account and usage data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 7).
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction. You can view and update most of your account information directly in the app's profile settings.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data by contacting us. We may retain certain records where required by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).
- Push notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Marketing communications. Any marketing emails we send include an unsubscribe option.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
Zukani TV serves a global, diaspora-first audience. Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your own country.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "last updated" date below reflects the most recent version.
